The Old People’s home in the village of Banya offers short- term social servicing- from one to three months a year. It is located 15 km from Nova Zagora in the village of Banya, by the river Tundja at the foot of Sredna Gora Mountain. The home can host 54 people, it works throughout the year and the residents spend there 1 to 3 months a year- rehabilitating, relaxing or finding refuge at a difficult time in their lives. They take advantage of the facilities as well as the natural setting-the location and the mineral water springs, suitable for treating illnesses of the bones and joints. Some of the beneficiaries are lonely old people living in a family and others come from other old people’s homes in the country, seeking to enlarge their social contacts. The home has 31 rooms. There is a residential area, as well as a kitchen block. There is a shop selling coffee, soft drinks and sweets. Besides, there is an Orthodox chapel. All these are places where the old people can meet and socialize.
